Norway’s Odim has been awarded a US $15.36m contract for two advanced deepwater cranes by China’s Zhejiang Shipyard, which is a subsidiary of Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group.

The work includes two 150-tonne Odim Abas deepwater cranes, with active heave compensation that allows for the use of equipment in harsh weather conditions.

The units will be installed on two advanced Ulstein SX130 subsea support ships under construction at Zhejiang Shipyard for Neptune Offshore, with delivery from December 2009 to February 2010.
